Benson Law Offices, PSC is a boutique litigation defense firm in Lexington, KY committed to bold and innovative strategies to defend our clients. We primarily represent healthcare entities including hospitals and their clinical professionals, and long-term care entities and their clinical and non-clinical staff in state and federal courts. We are experts in state and federal healthcare and long-term care regulatory compliance.
We are seeking an associate attorney with 5-10 years of litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice/negligence defense.

What You Will Do:
With support and assistance, you will have the opportunity to drive a case from assignment to resolution including:
Initial investigation of new matters.
Analyze and strategize legal matters.
Draft and manage pleadings, responses, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence.
Take and defend depositions.
Argue motions.
Direct and cross witnesses, present open and closing arguments at trial.
Work closely with clients.
Collaborate with senior attorney on litigation strategies.
Communicate with clients, attorneys, paralegal, plaintiff’s counsel, and experts.
What We Offer:
The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 depending on level of experience.

What We Require:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in Kentucky or eligible for admission to the Kentucky Bar.
At least 5 years in practice, with a minimum of 3 years in civil litigation.
Strong research and writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage cases.
Professional judgment, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong time management and problem-solving abilities.
Superior attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate with others.
Must meet billing goal expectations.
