- LTC Pharmacy Manager
Description
Directs and coordinates activities and functions of the assigned pharmacy through personal effort and cooperation of supportive subordinate managers, while performing the duties of a Licensed Pharmacist.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Scheduling Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Assistants, and Drivers finding replacements for PTO and ensuring shifts run smoothly. Including loading schedule in Paylocity.
* Ensure staff is taking all breaks by monitoring and keeping break log up to date.
* Ensure schedule change forms are completed on time by all staff.
* Field employee call outs to ensure shifts runs smoothly and track sick logs for compliance.
* Responsible for interviewing, hiring, disciplining, and terminating LTC Pharmacy Staff.
* Monitors all assigned Pharmacy staff to observe employee’s demeanor, technical accuracy, training completion, current licensure, and conformity to company policies.
* Complete Performance Reviews for Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants, and Drivers. Give input on Staff Pharmacist reviews.
* Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
* Assists in determining work procedures and expedites workflow.
* Maintains harmony among staff and resolves grievances.
* Monitors Errors and Complaints.
* Adequately communicates company directives to all assigned personnel.
* Reviews prescriptions issued by the Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy.
* Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighting, measuring, and mixing ingredients.
* Directs Pharmacy workers engaged in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
* Perform immunizations per collaborative practice agreement or physician order.
* Perform Mediation Therapy Management.
* Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste.
* Serves as compounding designated person.
* Serves as designated person for hazardous compliance.
* Enters data such as patient, prescribed medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
* Assays medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
* Instructs interns and other personnel on matters pertaining to the pharmacy.
* Communicates with and treats company’s customers of various ages.
* Maintain customer confidentiality at all times as required by HIPAA.
* Participates in traditional and e-learning programs.
* Participates in Improvement of Operational Performance (IOP) activities.
* Works effectively with other company employees, mangers, and departments.
* Comply with all State and Federal Laws and Regulations.
Requirements
* Active and in Good Standing Washington Pharmacist License or Pharmacy Technician License.
* Must demonstrate proficiency, productivity, and effective time management while working independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
* Must demonstrate proficient ability to foster professional working relationships utilizing strong interpersonal and communication skills organization-wide.
* Must demonstrate the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of Company program structure and pharmacy policies and procedures.
* Guide Pharmacy Staff to maintain legal boundaries and productivity.
* Must demonstrate proficient ability to understand, apply, and interpret an extensive array of information, variables, and instruction where only limited standardization exists to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
* Must demonstrate proficient ability to apply mathematical concepts such as basic algebra and geometry to such tasks as discounts, interest, portions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume to practical situations.
* Must demonstrate practical knowledge of computers, word processing software, inventory software, billing software, system software, and products applicable to the industry. Additionally, must demonstrate the ability to quickly and proficiently learn to use any other technology tools as required for completing job tasks.
* Must demonstrate the ability to analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional references, technical procedures, and/or governmental regulations and effectively present and debate any assortment of the information relevant to the assigned pharmacy.
* Must be able to work regularly scheduled shifts between the hours of Monday – Friday 8am-6pm and Saturday 9am-5pm. At times a flexible adjusted work schedule, as needed.
* Must demonstrate the abilities to work in a standard office setting, this may include but is not limited to: having the stamina to frequently stand for extended periods of time; maintaining focus despite interruptions; walking and lifting and/or moving up to ten (10) pounds; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone; manual dexterity to perform job functions. Occasionally will be required to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
