Deffet Group, Inc. is pleased to have been retained by LeadingAge Wisconsin to conduct an executive search for its President & CEO.
Founded in 1972, LeadingAge Wisconsin is a trade association that represents more than 500 nonprofit organizations and serves as a valuable source of information to assist our membership in expanding the world of possibilities for aging. Providers of senior care services include Wisconsin nursing homes, facilities for the developmentally disabled, independent and assisted living facilities in Wisconsin, and community service agencies. Statewide, our members employ over 38,000 people who provide compassionate care to more than 48,000 individuals daily. The association is a state partner with LeadingAge National and is aligned via an Affiliation Agreement. To support its members, LeadingAge Wisconsin provides representation by advocating members’ interests on state and national issues, maintaining a strong presence with state regulatory agencies, and participating in regulatory and legislative meetings, workshops, and task forces. LeadingAge Wisconsin also provides many networking opportunities for members through participation in state and national committees, an annual conference, and educational seminars and workshops, as well as keeping members informed on industry news with its publications, including the association newsletter, briefs on public policy issues, and more. LeadingAge Wisconsin also has a not-for-profit subsidiary, the Wisconsin Association of Homes for the Aged Research and Education Foundation.
The President & CEO is directly accountable to the Board of Directors and is responsible for providing strategic leadership consistent with the mission, vision, and values of LeadingAge Wisconsin. (S)he serves as chief liaison between LeadingAge Wisconsin and its affiliates, the local community, and governmental agencies while providing leadership and assistance to the Board of Directors and its committees in accomplishing the organization’s long- and short-range goals. (S)he will ensure the continued stability and growth of the organization while leading and supporting the development of innovative programs, services, and new initiatives, taking an active role in public policy and staff and board development.
The successful candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, with a Master’s preferred, as well as 7-10 years of senior level experience and 5-10 years of senior living/service profession experience. (S)he will be a strong communicator with developed industry knowledge and public advocacy experience who can lead an experienced team. Skilled in strategic thinking and leadership, the finalist will build consensus both inside and outside of the organization in a transparent and ethical manner.
