We have a great psychiatry job open at Burlington Lakeside VA Clinic for a psychiatrist for strong applicants (including trainees nearing graduation). We are ramping up the Primary Care/Mental Health integration program here (consultation with Primary Care) and we are adjacent to primary care in our community based outpatient clinic. The psychiatrist would get the privilege of serving our veterans along with great benefits and competitive pay, and the chance to live in beautiful Burlington, Vermont.

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): This position is eligible for the EDRP, a student loan payment reimbursement program. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
General: The incumbent in this position will dedicate 90% of time to outpatient clinical care at the Burlington Lakeside VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic. All psychiatrists maintain inpatient, emergency room, and on-call privileges. The incumbent will also hold clinical appointments in the Department of Psychiatry at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth and Larner College of Medicine at the University of Vermont, and will be expected to participate in academic activities including teaching and research during the remaining 10% of time, or as supported by external research funding. The incumbent will have some latitude to define outpatient clinical duties collaboratively with the Chief of MH & BSS.
The White River Junction MH &BSS comprises roughly 100 staff and trainees. The White River Junction MH & BSS provides care at the WRJ VAMC and at Community Based Outpatient Clinics located in Burlington, VT (Burlington Lakeside Clinic), Bennington VT, Brattleboro VT, Rutland VT, Keene NH and at outlying locations in Newport and Littleton, NH. Services at White River Junction include: Primary Mental Health Care, an open access outpatient clinic integrated into Primary Care; Specialized Mental Health Care, for outpatients with more intensive mental health needs including access to a variety of evidence based therapies for PTSD and other mental health disorders, and Substance Use Disorder treatment, including buprenorphine management; and an inpatient unit of 12 beds with fully supported ECT and TMS services, and a 14 bed Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program for Substance Use Disorder amongst other programs. The incumbent will be expected to work effectively and collaboratively with the program managers of these programs under the direction of the Chief of MH & BSS.
Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday - Friday
