To build on that leadership and put our awesome ideas into practice to help people in communities large and small, the College of Nursing is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Director for Faculty Practice and Entrepreneurship.

This leader will serve as the executive Nurse Practitioner to expand nursing faculty practice for the college, with responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Plans, develops, launches, leads and manages faculty clinical practice opportunities to deliver care to populations of patients that focuses on the prevention and evidence-based management of chronic conditions to elevate employee wellness, including regular, evidence-based screenings and health promotion and education, provided by a care team that integrates mental health services to improve health outcomes with the inclusion of telehealth as a means for care delivery
  • Collaborates with College of Nursing colleagues, such as Buckeye Wellness and Million Hearts® colleagues, and partners with external organizations for the development, proposal and execution of current and new clinical opportunities to provide employee wellness and chronic disease prevention and management programs
  • Assesses the physical and psychosocial status of clients
  • Formulates treatment plans and prescribes medication, traditional and nontraditional therapy based on evidence
  • Evaluates the quality of care provided and recommends changes for improvement in the delivery of care
  • Maintains provision of preventive health services for patients (screening, risks assessment, immunizations, etc.)
  • Assumes responsibility for PHI data privacy plan, review and oversight
  • Teaches and mentors health professional students on theoretical and practical implications of care delivery by providers
  • Serves as preceptor for RN and NP students and medical students

Candidates must hold a doctorate degree with national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Ohio State licensure as an RN and APN. Candidates must also have or be able to obtain prescriptive authority in Ohio and a DEA license, with at least five years’ practice experience as an FNP and demonstrated success in a progressively responsible management capacity with strategic or long-range planning experience. An FNP who has managed his/her own practice and/or has business experience is highly preferred.
