The Vascular Access Nurse provides critical support for all vascular access needs of inpatient and outpatient populations by vascular access assessment, planning, placement, and care for patients as assigned. Utilizing your expert nursing skills, the Vascular Access Nurse will insert peripheral and ultrasound guided IVs, manage and monitor vascular access devices to prevent infections, and continuously improve staff competencies related to line care and maintenance. This position provides an opportunity to utilize your specialized vascular access knowledge to ensure the highest quality care for our pediatric patients.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Experience: Two (2) years of nursing experience and proficient with peripheral IV insertion and care.
Equivalency: Associated Degree in Nursing (ADN) in addition to four (4) years of direct clinical nursing experiences with peripheral IV insertion and care, may substitute for the Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of experience.
Certification(s): BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration is required upon hire; PALS required within six months of hire.
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
