Gunnison Valley Health is a county-owned, integrated health system serving the 16,000 residents of Gunnison County, Colorado.

The health system is governed by a volunteer board of seven trustees who are appointed for five year terms by the Gunnison County Commissioners. The 450 member staff works with local and visiting specialists and local providers to provide primary, specialty and emergency care in hospital and outpatient settings.

The system includes a sole Community Hospital, Home Medical Services, Hospice & Palliative Care, Nursing Home care, Assisted Living, Family Medicine and Emergency Care Clinics, and a philanthropic foundation. Gunnison Valley Health has received numerous national and regional performance awards, including the VHA Leadership Award for Clinical Excellence, Avatar awards for Overall Patient Satisfaction, Colorado’s Top 5% ranked Nursing Home, Colorado EMS of the Year awards, and previous ranking in America’s Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals.
