Location: Greater Houston, Texas

Hours: 10-15 hours per week

About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and visionary physician to serve as our Contract Hospice Medical Director across the Greater Houston area. In this flexible 1099 role requiring 10-15 hours per week, you will provide essential clinical leadership, guide our interdisciplinary team, and ensure exceptional, patient-centered end-of-life care for patients and their families throughout the Houston community.
What You Will Do
- Lead Care: Provide medical direction and oversight for hospice patient care and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate Daily: Guide and participate in regular interdisciplinary group (IDG) team meetings.
- Admissions: Review clinical data and documentation to determine and certify hospice eligibility.
- Consultations: Offer expert clinical guidance on complex pain and symptom management.
- On-Call Support: Remain available to clinical on-call staff as may be needed for urgent clinical guidance.
- Compliance: Ensure all clinical services meet Texas state regulations and federal Medicare guidelines.
- Education: Provide clinical mentorship and education to nursing staff, care teams, and community partners.

Requirements
What We Look For
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- License: Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Texas.
- Certification: Active DEA registration; Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine (HPM) is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of clinical practice experience, with a demonstrated background in hospice, palliative care, or geriatrics.
- Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication, cultural competence, and collaborative leadership abilities within multidisciplinary teams.
