Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - McKinney as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better!Full-time Seasonal weekly requirements are three 12-hour shifts for the 13-week contract (excludes 1st week of orientation)
$1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time
Eligible for shift differentials. $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends. These are stackable (as applicable by time/day)
The first week is Monday- Friday orientation.
Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role.
Shift/Schedule - Day shifts 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM.
Requirement- Min of 1 yr. Acute Care, Med Surg hospital RN experience
Oncology
Our Oncology unit is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity * *patients. Are you looking to increase your knowledge base? Our leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member.
Patient Population: Majority of our patients are of medical, and we have a mixture of medical and surgical oncology patients and occasionally administer IV chemotherapy.
Patient Ratios : 1:4
Number of Beds: 16
Department Specifics: We are Commission on Cancer recognized hospital and a Sammons Cancer Center, which means that we provide a variety of care for patients that include the availability of Nurse Navigators, Child Life Specialists as well as a fully staffed Supportive and Palliative Care Team. In addition, we strive to get all our nurses' chemotherapy certified within the first 6 months of being an employee.

Job Summary As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
Essential Functions of the Role
• Using good judgment and clinical reasoning, conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
• Identify patient and family needs, then develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans accordingly. Make adjustments as needed.
• Creating safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
• Managing emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

• Effective communication skills to articulate thoughts clearly and interact with diverse groups of people.

Qualifications
• Grad of an Accredited Program
• Min of 1 yr. Acute Care, Med Surg hospital RN experience
• Specialized field of study should be nursing.
• RN license.
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
