Description
This is an opportunity for studio time. I have a thriving massage practice and I have a studio at the Leisure World Medical Center in the Leisure World Retirement Community (Aspen Hill, Maryland). I never see clients on Wednesdays, so the studio sits vacant. But, I am getting so busy that I am booking two and three weeks into the future. I would prefer that my clients not have to wait that long for an appointment, and I am also hoping to cut back to two per day, in the not too distant future. I am looking for someone who would like to rent the studio on Wednesdays. The Medical Center is open from 8 AM to 5 PM. I only see three clients a day, but you could set your own schedule. I would ask that you bring your own sheets, oil and disinfectant. I have an electric table with a heating pad. Standard massage sheets work fine. This is a sweet demographic to work with. They rarely cancel and are almost always on time. Although the minimum age is 55, many folks I see just come for a tune-up or to relax. Others have a wide range of musculoskeletal or neurological issues that respond well to massage, and they are always grateful for the sessions.
Note: The Salary displayed in this ad is misleading. (I had to fill in the blank.) I am not offering to pay you. You would be paid directly by your own clients, and all clients must be Leisure World Residents. I would forward any new clients directly to you, unless they are unable to make a Wednesday appointment. I usually get five or six new requests for appointments per month, but I would also like to be able to offer your services to any of my clients who want to be seen faster than I can get them on the table. Most new clients rebook within the following two to four weeks. I don't think it would take too long to fill your availability on a regular basis.
Requirements
The ideal candidate MUST have a valid Maryland Massage License. He or she will be a seasoned therapist; easy-going, patient and willing to accommodate for slower moving, less agile clients. He or she will be open-minded with a warm disposition and able to provide an effective, but gentle massage as we must assume from the start that older bodies can be much more fragile than our younger clients. There are often implants or ports to work around; joint replacements, spinal fixations, and the effects of a variety of surgical procedures to accommodate for.
